The Challenge Of The Protein Powder

2/5/2017

We found just the right protein shake for Leo. It's like it was made for him! It is power-packed with nutrition, it contains live probiotics, it is GMO/Dairy/Gluten FREE, and easily digestible!

These are all the things that Pediasure is not.

However- Pediasure has one thing on this optimum protein powder... TASTE!

It comes in vanilla and chocolate, but we opted for vanilla since that's the flavor of the Pediasure's he likes.

It tastes very organic. Our first try: using coconut milk, I blended it up, and added 2 Stevia sweeteners.

Did not pass his taste test.

So I added a little Pediasure and he drank most of it.

It's a challenge, so it's going to take some experimenting but I think we can integrate the protein powder more than one way into his daily diet.

So- given that this powder offers ALL the nutrition he needs, where do we stand on juicing? The whole point behind juicing was to introduce dense nutrition into his diet, something he has gone without for so long!

This is what we've decided and agreed would be the most beneficial for our little angel:

Instead of juicing super-veggies for maximum nutrition, I am now juicing veggies/fruits to help and support the cleanse being administered through the homeopathy treatments.

Today, I juiced 1 peach, 1 pear, 6 black berries, 6 raspberries, 2 cups of kale, 1/2 beet, and 1 cup of carrots.

I poured about 2oz of juice into his cup, added about 3oz of protein shake, and 3oz of Pediasure.

His cup sits next to me, right now, EMPTY!

Mission Accomplished!

Dietary Update: Yesterday, he ate about 6 or 7 cashews for the first time in over a year!
