Week # 21- Potty Training Is ON!

This week has been an experience. In our Video Diary, I explain the circumstances that lead to our implementing potty training and how we know Leo is finally ready!

It's a challenge, for sure, because we have to remain patient and not set our expectations too high.
It's a conscious struggle!

But there's no turning back.
It's happening!

On a normal day, Leo demands nearly exclusive interaction all the time. It's not his fault, he doesn't have others to play with unless we have a surprise visit from a neighbor kid who just wants to play with Leo's things, not necessarily interact with Leo.

But with potty training, the amount of interaction has now gone over and above the normal day. When he sits on the potty, we want to make sure that when he goes, we are there to cheer and mark the moment! So important! So we are singing, reading books, playing with balloons, fidget spinners and other various toys.

When he's NOT on the potty, and running around in underwear, we are constantly checking and staying on top to eliminate an accident.

Needless to say, this challenge is both exciting and exhausting!
At bedtime and when we go out shopping, we put a pull-up OVER his underwear so if he goes, he will feel it.
Other than that, his new nickname is Mr.Pee-Body!

Our Featured GoFundMe is one that we featured before, but I want to share again and again until their goal is met!

Zachary was born with a rare condition called Eagle -Barrette Syndrome (a.k.a. Prune Belly),  Severe Neurological Developmental Delays, Epilepsy/ Seizures, Nonverbal and uses a wheelchair.
Samantha was born with Moderate to Severe Neurological Developmental Delays, Epilepsy/Seizures, Nonverbal and also uses a wheelchair..
As you can imagine, their life gets very crazy with many doctor visits, school special education meetings and therapies.
Currently, their biggest need is a van/vehicle which is fitted for two wheelchairs.  Not only are their wheelchairs very heavy, the two children are also becoming more and more challenging to lift.   Because of their medical issues, safety is a very important factor.

This family needs our help. Please donate and/or share!!

As part of this weeks Video Diary, I share with you an email from a newsletter I received that discusses digestive enzymes and stomach acid. Be sure to check out video for the interesting information!

Our Featured Day In The Life of Leo shows him eating with a fork! ENJOY!!
